Kasturba Gandhi: Accidental Activist has garnered nominations and awards in nine film festivals, eight in North America and one in India. This story illustrates that Kasturba Gandhi remained in the shadows of her famous husband—a place she was happy to be throughout her life. Now she emerges. Kasturba Gandhi was the wife of 62 years to an icon of the 20th century, whose disciples include Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. But Mahatma Gandhi, Master of Nonviolence, credited her with teaching him about Nonviolence.

This story takes her to age 45, when she and Gandhi leave South Africa for India where her activism will continue and blossom. KASTURBA GANDHI: Accidental Activist depicts her foundational years, teaching Gandhi about Nonviolence through her words and actions and beginning her incredible life of activism and humanitarianism. History missed this story.
