Build your intercultural skills in this training designed for faculty, staff, scholars, and graduate teaching assistants. Understanding Intercultural Development introduces the Intercultural Development Continuum (IDC), a framework used to understand and enhance intercultural competence and provides insight into the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), a tool for assessing and developing these skills.

In this session, participants will explore the IDC stages, gain an overview of the IDI, and learn practical strategies for fostering intercultural growth. Those interested may choose to take the IDI at a later time for a personalized assessment.

Registration is required, so secure your spot now! This training is open to faculty, staff, and international scholars.

About GUIDE: Global Understanding, Intercultural Development, and Engagement Sessions

The GUIDE Sessions provide professional learning opportunities for faculty, staff, and scholars who want to strengthen their ability to work effectively across cultures and support international students and colleagues. These interactive sessions offer practical tools grounded in intercultural research, helping participants refine their communication skills, deepen cultural understanding, and create more inclusive academic and workplace environments.

GUIDE Sessions are open to all campus professionals and do not require prior experience with intercultural training. Participants are encouraged to attend multiple GUIDE sessions to build a well-rounded foundation in intercultural competence.
