This calendar includes social, cultural, educational, and informational programs, workshops, and events designed to foster intercultural learning and global understanding. All opportunities are open to the campus community. However, some opportunities are specifically designed for international students, international scholars, and study abroad participants.

New to campus in Summer 2025? Let us help you find your way! Join our campus tour for new international students to get familiar with the University of Illinois and its resources.

Start Location: International Studies Building (910 S 5th St, Champaign, IL 61820)

  • Meet your tour guides inside the front atrium (no need to check in at the ISSS front desk).


End Location: Main Quad (near Illini Union)

Tour Details:

  • Start Time: Begins at 2:00 PM (duration of approximately 45 minutes)
  • Arrival Time: Please arrive by 1:50 PM. We will leave promptly at 2:00 PM, and late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
  • Led by: I STAR Tour Guides – current University of Illinois students who will share their insider knowledge
  • Who can attend: All new international students (undergraduate and graduate)


Important Reminders:

  • Dress coolly to prepare for the heat! Summer weather can become very warm in Illinois. Please check the weather and dress accordingly as most of the tour will take place outdoors.
  • Tours will be held rain or shine.
  • Registration Deadline: Registration is required by 11:59PM CST on June 5 to ensure we have enough guides for everyone.
