However, some opportunities are specifically designed for international students, international scholars, and study abroad participants.

Join us for Illini on Ice, a fun and free ice-skating event open to students, scholars, and their dependents (ages 10+). Spend an afternoon gliding on the ice while enjoying complimentary hot chocolate to keep you warm. A mini-skating lesson will be provided, making this a perfect opportunity for both beginners and experienced skaters alike.

What’s Included: Ice skate rental, hot chocolate, and a mini-skating lesson 

Important Notes: 

  • Participants must acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of ice skating. Waiver forms will be provided and must be signed before you can step on the ice. 

  • Registration is not required, but the Ice Arena has a maximum capacity. If the rink is full, you may be asked to wait before entering. 

  • For first-time or beginner skaters, you may want to watch this five-minute introductory resource video beforehand: https://mediaspace.illinois.edu/media/t/1_5kk3djbw. This will provide a basic overview on how to properly tie skates for those who are new or inexperienced with skating.
