Conflict happens everywhere, but how we handle it can look very different across cultures. Join us for an interactive workshop exploring how cultural values shape our approaches to disagreement, communication, and resolution.
Participants will:
Learn the four intercultural conflict styles: Discussion, Engagement, Accommodation, and Dynamic
Discover how directness and emotional expression influence communication
Analyze real-world examples and film clips to identify different conflict approaches
Reflect on their own preferred style and strategies for bridging across differences
Whether you tend to avoid conflict, dive right in, or navigate it through subtle cues, this session will help you better understand your own reactions and communicate more effectively across cultures.
Open to faculty, staff, and graduate students.
