On March 24, Courtney Dorroll will lead a workshop about teaching about the Middle East, focusing on strategies for self-care and sustainability.
In this presentation, Prof. Dorroll will share strategies to help teachers at all levels, as well as student teachers, create a supportive space to discuss the challenges of teaching about the Middle East and develop goals and identify strategies for productive student dialogue around difficult topics. Prof. Dorroll will address the important—but neglected—role of self-care for teachers committed to engaging controversial issues.
