Join us for a conversation around Dr. Sarah Ohmer’s book, The Keloids We Heal: Trauma, Spirituality, and Black Modernity in Literature.

The book explores trauma, spirituality, and Black modernity across the United States, Brazil, and the Caribbean, engaging with the work of writers such as Toni Morrison, Conceição Evaristo, Maryse Condé, and Gloria Anzaldúa.

Dr. Ohmer will be joined by Dr. Tanya L. Saunders (UMBC) and Dr. Dorothy Mosby, with Chanta Shenell Palmer (UMBC) moderating the conversation.
