SITI Company’s Talking into the Future series meets Krannert Center’s CultureTalk, activating creative friction and bold questions; exploring the art of assembly in all its forms; and investigating the challenges of our time. This vibrant installment of the series features a conversation between SITI Company co-artistic director Anne Bogart and New York Live Arts founding director Bill T. Jones; both SITI Company and the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company have performed multiple times on Krannert Center stages. The event is presented in collaboration with SITI Company, New York Live Arts, and CultureTalk campus partners and is offered free of charge by Krannert Center.

Anne Bogart is one of the three co-artistic directors of SITI Company, which she founded with Japanese director Tadashi Suzuki and a group of likeminded artists in 1992. Recognized for their pioneering repertoire, collaborative foundation, and groundbreaking technique, SITI has been heralded as one of the most important and successful American theatre ensembles working today. As the Company’s full-time producing ensemble prepares for its final bow after three decades of virtuosic theatre making, SITI draws on our current moment of questioning and dismantling the status quo to make new connections and unite local and global voices while shining a light on the next generation of artists and theatre makers.

New York Live Arts artistic director Bill T. Jones is a Tony Award-winning, multitalented artist, choreographer, dancer, theatre director, and writer. Mr. Jones choreographed and performed worldwide with his late partner, Arnie Zane, before forming the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company in 1982. He has created more than 140 works for his company. As artistic director of New York Live Arts, Mr. Jones strives to create a robust framework in support of our nation’s dance and movement-based artists through new approaches to producing, presenting, and educating.

CultureTalk is a collaborative initiative of the Office of the Dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts, the Center for Advanced Study, the Humanities Research Institute, and Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

This live-streamed event will last approximately 75 minutes. Audience members will not appear on camera and will have the opportunity to write questions in the online chat area throughout the event for consideration during the question and answer portion. CultureTalk can be viewed through April 8 at 5pm.
