Join us for a talk by Kim Lane Scheppele entitled “Europe’s New Democracy Deficit: Creeping Autocracy in Hungary and Poland.” This event is part of the REEEC Critical Methods Series in Legal Studies and co-sponsored by the European Union Center. Kim Lane Scheppele is a leading scholar who focuses on the intersection of constitutional and international law. Since 2010, she has been documenting the rise of autocratic legalism first in Hungary and then in Poland within the European Union, as well as its spread around the world. Register to attend.
