Dr. Jack Zinnen is an assistant research scientist in the Wetlands Group at the Illinois Natural History Survey. He received his bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Illinois Springfield. He completed his PhD in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research expertise includes vegetation science, restoration ecology, wetland science, and conservation genetics. Specifically, he studies Floristic Quality Assessment and ecological conservatism, rare plant species, prairie ecology, and the topic of today's seminar, the native plant industry.
