Abstract: Scrub forests in India are classified as wastelands and thus often subjected to unchecked habitat degradation or destruction. To develop a conservation plan for this habitat, I studied the foraging habitat preference by scrubland bird community, dependence of indigenous communities on the scrub forests, and impact of changes in land use and land cover on scrub forests.
