Interpersonal/Team: Psychological Safety (1 hr)

In this workshop, you will learn about the concept of psychological safety and how to create a culture in groups/teams that allows for people to speak up, make mistakes and bring their full selves to work.

Psychological safety is a key factor in promoting innovation and creativity in teams. Amy Edmondson, professor of leadership and management at Harvard Business School, introduces nine actionable tips, including encouraging open dialogue, reinforcing the purpose and meaning of your organization, leading with openness, modeling curiosity, soliciting feedback, and celebrating risk.

As a result of this training students will

  • Define psychological safety
  • Differentiate a "good question" from a "bad question"
  • Script a response to a difficult conversation
  • Identify strategies to promote psychological safety in groups/teams

This workshop counts for 1-hour of leadership training for the leadership certificate.

Once you have completed the module an ILC staff member will review your responses and provide you documentation of completion.  Please allow 2 business days to receive a confirmation of completion.
