Inclusive and Accessible Communication: This workshop will give you tools, tips, and strategies to make your presentations/communication more inclusive and accessible to individuals with disabilities. Participants will gain a greater awareness of visible/non-visible disabilities (i.e. autism, ahdh, learning disabilities), typical accommodations, and a better understanding of using accessible technology during events (i.e. blind, low-vision, deaf, hard of hearing).
Presenter Bio's:
Anuar Escutia Ponce de Leon: Anuar is Executive Director at Disability Access Network (DAN) and enjoys advocating for the needs of individuals with disabilities*.
RaeAnne Lindsay: In 2019, RaeAnne was selected for a fellowship through the Illinois Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) which provides interdisciplinary training designed to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities*.
*Anuar & RaeAnne are both graduating with their Master's in Social Work at UIUC in May 2021 and are currently completing their internship at DRES in Career Services.
