Melissa Forbes is a supply chain leader for GE Healthcare located outside Milwaukee, WI. Melissa graduated from University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering. She has spent 12 years, all with GE Healthcare, working in various supply chain roles where ultimately she has used her passion for collaborating with others to solve problems. She started her career in the Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) where she spent two years completing four rotations across supply chain functions. She has 10 years experience in manufacturing shop operations and people leadership roles including line management, materials management, and lean implementation. During those roles Melissa led initiatives to improve plant safety through focus on ergonomics, improve product quality, and reduce customer lead time while still improving product delivery. Most recently she has expanded into sales & operations planning for X-Ray products in the US & Canada, which includes both demand management (forecasting) as well as customer (hospital) fulfillment. On the personal side, Melissa is married to Ryan and has 3 young children (6, 4, and 2 years old) who keep her busy! She enjoys cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, Milwaukee Brewers, and vacationing in Las Vegas.
