The Champaign Urbana Astronomical Society and University of Illinois Astronomical Society invites the public to witness the 2012 transit of Venus, the last one of our lifetimes!
We will have telescopes set up with special equipment for safely viewing the Sun. Venus begins crossing the solar disc at 5:09pm CDT and will be visible until sunset. We'll start setting up at 4:30pm in the field just west of Parkland College's Staerkel Planetarium.
Join us to experience this rare celestial event!
Check out http://transitofvenus.org/ for more information about the transit, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
