Discussant: Mona Khneisser, a PhD student in Sociology at UIUC graduated with an MA in Sociology from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and has worked as an Instructor and Researcher at the Sociology Department, the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy & International Affairs, and the Asfari Institute for Civil Society & Citizenship at AUB, Lebanon. Her research interests are centered on the Arab world in the fields of social movements studies, environmental justice, critical theory, sectarianism, and political economy.
