Few contemporary plays have been as widely performed and well-loved as Qui Nguyen’s She Kills Monsters. Agnes Evans lives an uneventful life until she is thrust into crisis by the sudden deaths of her parents and sister in a tragic car accident. Shaken out of her routine and forced to confront everything she had been pushing aside in order to keep her life uneventful and ordinary, Agnes begins to explore the worlds her sister had created through the fantasy game Dungeons and Dragons. Toggling back and forth between reality and fantasy, Agnes gradually comes to know herself and her family and learns to overcome her own inner monsters as she lets her life blossom into the extraordinary. Please join Illinois Theatre for a virtual performance of this captivating play.
