Rafiki is the story of two girls, Kena and Ziki, whose friendship develops into a romantic love relationship in a country that has strict anti-gay laws. Their love sets them on a collision course with family, society, and religious institutions. This controversial movie is set against the backdrop of growing political pressures around LGBT rights in Kenya.
