The Marjorie Roberts Professorship in Liberal Arts & Sciences was established through the generosity of alumna Marjorie Roberts. Roberts was born in Edison Park, Illinois, and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in 1924. Along with her husband, Thomas Roberts, she owned and operated Roberts Tyrone Trailer Haven in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a member of Pasadena Community Church and the Garden Club of St. Petersburg. Upon her death, her estate supported both the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Springfield College (in Springfield, Massachusetts).
