Title: From the lab to the sky: Manufacturing high-performance solar cells
Location: ECEB 3015
Biography: Dr. Glaudell joined MicroLink Devices in September 2021. Previously, Dr. Glaudell received her PhD in Physics at CalTech while studying interface optimization for photovoltaic devices. Her research included fabrication and characterization of epitaxy-free III-V, silicon microcells, and silicon heterojunction photovoltaic devices. At MicroLink, Dr. Glaudell has been involved in the demonstration of MicroLink’s solar sheets on the wing surfaces of UAV’s for extended endurance, the reuse of GaAs substrates at high-volume, yield and throughput optimization of solar cell production, the development of a stowable 65-W PV-battery module for UAV remote charging, and long-life betavoltaic batteries for remote field and medical device applications.
