The seminar will introduce the software tools from UIUC and Allen Institute, supporting large-scale bio-realistic modeling of neurons and neuronal networks. Brain Modeling ToolKit (BMTK) is a package used to model and simulate complex network of neurons, whereas SONATA file format supports efficient storage of models and simulations as well as their exchange and reproducibility. A powerful visualization tool VND (Visual Neuronal Dynamics) helps users to examine models in 3D and interact with simulation results.
