K-12 PD workshop "Mexican Muralism" presented by Arte Ambulante, National Museum of Mexican Art.

Join the National Museum of Mexican Art for a PD workshop on the 1920s saw the birth of the Mexican Muralist Movement. This artistic movement saw the rise of Los Tres Grandes, Diego Rivera, Jose Clemenete Orozco, and David Alfaro Siqueiros. These three artists were part of a movement that saw Mexican history, legends, heroes, and culture become the dominant theme of public art throughout Mexico’s public buildings and spaces. In this workshop we will learn a fundamental technique used in the creation of murals. By creating a grid over a design, and then on a larger surface, artists can transfer a design onto virtually any scale.

Illinois K-12 educators are eligible to receive ISBE Professional Development Hours (PDH).
