Abstract: Light is the essence of 3D computer graphics.  Accurate lighting can make the difference between an immersive experience and flat, cartoonish visuals.  Come see how Aechelon Technology’s Summer 2022 Interns brought the virtual Earth to life with improved shadow rendering, physically based materials, procedural damage to vehicles, and ray-marched volumetric clouds.
