Dominic Saebeler is the Senior Associate Director with the Information Trust Institute in The Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Dominic is responsible for a range of activities including Strategic Planning, Senior Administrative Functions, Business Development for Research, Training, Content Development and Professional Education Projects, and External & Internal Industry Stakeholder Engagements.

Dominic researches, writes and advises on critical infrastructure protection and cybersecurity strategies while collaborating with industry stakeholders, organizations and government entities. He has drafted legislation and advised Illinois legislators on substantive topics related to data privacy, protection and cyber security matters. He has presented at numerous energy industry forums and conferences on cyber related topics including the evolving role of Public Utility Commission in regulating, promoting and supporting optimal utility security postures while balancing compliance versus risk-based mitigation approaches to addressing cyber threats to critical infrastructure. He has designed and facilitated multiple utility focused cyber threat response exercises in Illinois, utilizing cyber-attack - event driven scenarios to challenge participants on the effectiveness of their communications and responsiveness plans.

Prior to joining ITI, Dominic held a variety of roles including General Counsel, Chief Information Officer and Chief of IT Policy at the State of Illinois. Dominic held several private sector roles focused on security, technology, law and business consulting. Dominic was the first Director of Cybersecurity and Risk Management for the Illinois Commerce Commission, where he spent three years creating an office focused on strategic assessment of critical infrastructure utility preparedness for evolving cyber risk.

Dominic is an Illinois attorney who has taught for the U of I Springfield campus’ College of Business and Management, where he taught a BUS 310A "Managing Cybersecurity" focusing on preparing students to address increasing cyber risk as it impacts business decisions and overall risk management.

Casey W. O'Brien is the Assistant Director for Cyber Defense Education and Training with the Information Trust Institute in The Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Casey has more than 25 years of large-scale information security and IT engineering, implementation, and management experience in challenging and cutting-edge public and private sector environments.

Casey's teaching and research interests include: practice-centered education and training solutions that combine accelerated learning programs, validated assessments, instruction, practice labs, and challenge scenarios to improve information security talent management in organizations; rapid deployment of customizable and adaptive curriculum that raises learner capability maturity in foundational security concepts, tactics, techniques, and procedures; and formative credentialing solutions that increase the number of capable professionals.

Casey is the Technical Editor of five textbooks: Ethical Hacking & Systems Defense, Linux Server Fundamentals, Information Security Fundamentals, Introduction to Scripting, and Networking Fundamentals.
