The Spurlock Museum of World Cultures and the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center (REEEC) at the University of Illinois are hosting a free, family-friendly Zoom program to celebrate Eastern European International Women’s Day. There will be crafts and short lessons on the Russian language, along with highlights from the Museum’s collection and a Russian story told by our resident storyteller and assistant director of education, Kim Sheahan Sanford.

The first 25 families to register for the program will receive a goodie bag that contains instructions and materials for making paper flowers, a page with all of the Russian phrases taught at the program, materials to make International Women’s Day cards, and pieces of traditional Russian chocolates, which are eaten on the holiday. Though the program is free, registration is required.
