Since there is no CS faculty meeting Monday 7/20, we would like to take the time to discuss faculty plans for preparing for remote instruction for the fall semester. Many of the courses offered by CS this fall will involve some form of remote instruction, and we have an opportunity now to share best practices to prepare for this. I can begin the discussion with and overview of relevant materials on flipped classrooms for CS instruction, and lessons we have learned from the course development and delivery in the online MCS program. I would also welcome others to share their expertise, experiences and advice, as well as anything they have learned or worked on as part of the summer online teaching academy. These discussions should provide pointers and foresight in the preparation of lecture videos and assessments that are more effective for remote student learning, engagement and satisfaction.
