This book presentation and workshop concerns The New Italy and the Jews: From Massimo D’Azeglio to Primo Levi, co-edited by Jonathan Druker and L. Scott Lerner, and published by the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies.

The nineteen essays in this volume address the place of Italian Jewish culture and history in the birth and development of the Italian nation from the 19th century “Risorgimento” to the present. Co-editor Jonathan Druker (Italian, Illinois State) and contributor Manuel Rota (French and Italian, Illinois) will discuss the project and some of the essays in the volume. Participants are encouraged to review the pre-circulated selections from the volume. Pack a lunch and join us!
