Sponsored by the Women's Resources Center and the Strategic Initatives Grant, the Feminist Activist Academy is a day-long intensive followed by two days of action designed to introduce emerging student leaders to methodologies and traditions of feminist activism!
Our day-long intensive will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21st from 9am-5pm at the Women's Resources Center and feature speakers, workshops, and strategizing focused on contemporary issues facing women and girls, including but not limited to: body positivity, violence against women (including sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking/harassment), sex trafficking, labor, media representations, economic justice, reproductive rights, racial justice, and intersectional feminisms.
Participants will gain a strong awareness of feminist issues, as well as, concrete skills in the area of grassroots student-led activist organizing that they can take forward as change-makers and leaders in their communities.
