Abstract: The U.S. Academic Library Response to COVID19 survey moved from conceptualization to deployment on March 11 and since then has been providing the academic library community with real-time reports and dashboards to inform decision making, benchmarking, and advocacy efforts by library workers at all levels. This talk will highlight the principles that guided the rapid development process of the survey, the infrastructures underlying the work, and how the co-leads manage the project working collaboratively at a distance as well implications for crisis informatics and emerging thoughts on implications for leading libraries in emergency times.

Speaker Bios:
Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe is professor as well as coordinator for information literacy services and instruction in the University Library and affiliate faculty in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Christine Wolff-Eisenberg, manager of surveys and research at Ithaka S+R, leads a team of researchers in studying student and faculty needs, academic support services, and organizational leadership in collaboration with educational and cultural organizations.
