Russian, E. European & Eurasian Center: Outreach

Have you ever played with Matryoshka dolls or heard about the prince who married a very clever frog? Or wondered about cozy furs used in warm winter clothing or beautiful pysanka Easter eggs? All of these will be part of the Spurlock Museum’s February Third Sunday program.

At this free family program highlighting Russia and Eastern Europe, activities include a storytelling session, a Fabergé egg presentation and craft, and a table of touchable artifacts to explore. The program is held in collaboration with the University of Illinois Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Center.

Family programs are planned for the first and third Sundays of February, March, and April 2020. First Sundays will feature craft programs related to the temporary exhibit In Her Closet—How to Make a Drag Queen. Third Sundays will feature culture-or country-based activities. Visit the Museum’s online events calendar for program details and schedules.
