Brightline is a private transportation company on a mission to connect city pairs that are “too far to drive and too short to fly” with modern, eco-friendly passenger rail.   Brightline opened its initial route between Miami, FL and West Palm Beach, FL in 2018 and is currently constructing an extension to Orlando that will open in 2023.  Future expansion plans include a connection to Tampa and a second system, Brightline West, connecting Southern California with Las Vegas. This presentation will focus on the design and construction of the Orlando extension, including the innovative design work, critical construction activities, and close coordination with freight rail and community partners that make the project possible.
