Dear students and faculty,

We’re excited to bring to you the 15th edition of the CSL Student Conference! Mark your calendars from February 26th – February 28th for a range of stimulating events, from keynote talks to student presentations, from robotics demonstrations to breakout sessions. You may find the complete schedule at the conference webpage: https://studentconference.csl.illinois.edu/

Registration is now open! Click here to register. Registration is free, but required.

This year, the conference will be kickstarted by a series of great workshops from Microsoft, Intel, Nvidia and Vail on the morning of Feb 26th, Wednesday in CSL. These companies will be joined by many others for the one-of-a-kind graduate-student job fair in the afternoon in ECEB. The crowning event of the day will be the plenary talk by Dr. Eyal Ofek from Microsoft Research on “VIRTUAL REALITY IN THE WILD” at the NCSA Auditorium at 5:30 pm. A welcome reception follows.

The rest of the conference features four technical sessions, all to be held in CSL B02:

  1. Health Informatics and Computational Biology

Keynote by Prof. Sridevi Sarma of Johns Hopkins: Feb 27th, 9 am – 12 pm (Thursday)

  1. Machine Learning for Signal Processing

Keynote by Prof. Michael Picheny of NYU-Courant Institute: Feb 27th, 2pm – 5pm (Thursday)

  1. High Performance Computing

Keynote by Prof. Rich Vuduc of Georgia Tech: Feb 28th, 9 am – 12 pm (Friday)

  1. Decision, Control and Optimization

Keynote by Prof. Alex Olshevsky of Boston University: Feb 28th, 2pm – 5pm (Friday)

Also, join us for the poster session on Thursday at ECEB 3002 and the robotics demonstrations on Friday at CSL Studio to learn more about the cool research being done by students of CSL and those around the Grainger College of Engineering. Lunch will be provided!

Lastly, don’t miss out on the new breakout sessions in this year’s conference: a workshop on communicating research to general public, a panel discussion on the future of AI, and a mentoring circles event. We also have a hackathon organized by VAIL on Thursday night. Follow us on our Facebook page to catch all the latest updates! Also see the attached schedule and flyer.

Don’t miss out on the exciting talks, networking opportunities and free food. Register today!
