MiXR: Dr. Laura Shackelford (4-5 PM)
Dr. Laura Shackelford (Anthropology and the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, U of I) joins VR Club to discuss the newest version of her innovative VR project, as described on their website: "VRchaeology teaches archaeological field methods using immersive [VR], allowing all students to learn archaeology without leaving the classroom." The experience is used as a core part of an Illinois course where students jump into a virtual cave site, excavate ancient artifacts, and learn all about field methods by becoming virtual archaeologists!
