At Grainger Engineering, we build tomorrow.
Join us for the next research initiatives webinar where Prof. Brian Cunningham will provide an overview of current engineering advancements in Cancer research. When a person goes to the doctor with an infection, they can leave the appointment with a diagnosis and a prescription for antibiotics. Why can’t the same be true for cancer? Oncologists, oral surgeons, gynecologists, and patients are all eager to simplify the journey that cancer patients currently face for initial diagnosis, therapy selection, therapy effectiveness monitoring, and remission monitoring. Through a multidisciplinary team science approach that involves UIUC engineers, chemists, biologists, and clinical partners, we are developing ultrasensitive, simple, rapid, quantitatively accurate, and inexpensive approaches for detecting molecular biomarkers for cancer.
Prof. Cunningham is the Intel Alumni Endowed Chair, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Bioengineering, Department of Chemistry, Director of the Center for Genomic Diagnostics at the Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, and Program Leader of Cancer Technology and Data Science for the Cancer Center at Illinois.
