Peter VanNess - Senior Member of the Technical Staff
Peter graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2011. Peter then spent 11 years at HP/Hewlett Packard Enterprise designing, developing, and maintaining data center platform management firmware and in the process earned his Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Tech in 2018. Peter then moved into the Data Center GPU organization within AMD in the spring of 2022. Since joining Peter has worked on the design, delivery, and optimization of MI300 APU as well as platform firmware.
Peter currently works as a Firmware Technical Lead and Lead FW Debug Engineer in the Data Center GPU Validation organization.
Peter lives in Houston, Texas with his wife, daughter and two dogs. Outside of time with his family, in his spare time he enjoys volunteering at his church, reading non-fiction books, and hiking, especially in the mountains, whenever he gets the chance.
