Quantum chromodynamics describes the long-storied theory behind the strong nuclear force and its quantization. Despite its relatively early establishment compared to much of the standard model, much of the field is left untouched prior to graduate study, contrary to the great developments made in the field since its experimental verification in 1979. This talk aims to provide a comprehensive theoretical minimum to the field, including historical perspectives and an introduction to both the progress of theory and experiment.
