Stop Communicating Like an Engineer!  Learn to communicate like a Professional!

Improve Your Critical Communications & Presentation Skills Workshop for ISE Engineers

ISE Engineers are masters of problem-solving, create amazing technical solutions, and have the ability to deliver incredible innovation to disrupt markets. However, these talents are of little value if you can not effectively communicate with your clients, your leadership, your investors, and your teammates. This 2-hour workshop is intended to build an awareness of the critical importance that communications skills have in fulfilling your career potential. The workshop will be interactive with education, methodology, and hands-on activities to help reinforce the concepts. All ISE students are welcome!

The ISE Presentation and Communications Skills Workshop will be led by GE alumnus Jason Lee as an add-on to the SE 290 EIR Class. The workshop will be in two locations on Feb. 8: 11-11:50 (1310 DCL) / noon-1 (2240 DCL).

Jason is a 1995 ISE General Engineering Graduate originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago and now resides in Western Springs, IL.  His wife is also an Illinois grad and together have 4 kids, with the oldest being a U of I sophomore studying Systems Engineering and Process Design. Coming from a long line of engineers, Jason sought the same logical problem-solving disciplines provided from an engineering curriculum to be applied in business pursuits.

He started his career at Accenture and has spent nearly 30 years as a serial entrepreneur building cultures and teams to serve large enterprise customers. The focus always being to build solutions which deliver real value through increased revenue, reduced cost and/or minimize risk. Typical services provided include technology strategy, process design, business application development, data analytics and implementing technology infrastructure.

Jason has co-founded 3 services firms with successful exits (2005, 2019, 2020) to strategic buyers including Cognizant Technology Solutions and ATOS valued at over $300M. These businesses have employed more than 1500 people across the US, Canada and India. Most recently the services have been heavily Cloud focused working with the major players such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft including repeat honor as Google Cloud North American Partner of the Year.

Jason remains an active business investor and board advisor, working with fellow entrepreneurs working to launch their companies. He has also recently joined the ISE Alumni Board, serving on the Business Perspectives Committee.
