With the continuous evolution of technology, we now have opportunities to acquire data across multiple spatiotemporal scales. The wealth of data has transformed modern scientific thinking and discoveries. Driven by data’s ever-increasing size and complexity, machine learning and statistical analysis have become indispensable tools in modern scientific research. Through two examples, this talk showcases how recent developments in machine learning/statistics can unravel previously inaccessible insights from imaging and sequencing data. Furthermore, this talk will also outline a plan for forthcoming projects within the Center for Quantitative Cell Biology.
