Abstract:

In this seminar, UL Solutions engineers will delve into the intricacies of evaluating safety in various types of products with a focus on EV Bikes. Discover how we evaluate and enhance safety through testing, risk assessments, and innovative technologies. Together, we’ll work towards creating a safer, more sustainable future, where products of all kinds meet the highest safety standards for consumers and industries alike.

Biographies:

Dennis Rocha, Engineering Manager

Dennis Rocha graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and completed his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. Dennis has worked as the Engineering Manager for the Fire Resistance & Containment businesses at UL Solutions for the last 1.5 years. His teams focus on the testing and certification of building protects for fire safety in the built environment. Prior to joining UL Solutions, Dennis worked at Aux Sable Liquid Products for 9 years in various engineering functions including project management and the commercial optimization of operating assets. Dennis and his wife are the proud parents of 3 boys, with #4 on the way!

Derek Cernek, Engineer

Derek is an Associate Project Engineer on the North American Circuit Protection Team at UL Solutions. He obtained his BS and MEng in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing in Power and Energy Systems. Since graduation, his work focus within UL Solutions has been the testing and certification of Surge Protective Devices for use in industrial and residential applications.
