Developing your Professional Persona
This session will address the dos and don'ts of building a professional image. Topics will include web presence (personal pages and social media), professional communication skills (email, etc.) and behavior. How to be a good collaborator and citizen, polite and respectful treatment of cultural differences, how to be an advocate or ally when you observe disrespectful behavior.

Camille Cobb
My research focus in usable security and privacy. My work aims to ellucidate and address users' security and privacy concerns. In particular, I recognize that many perspectives have been historically left out of conversations about security and privacy, and I seek to correct for this through my work. I recently joined the University of Illinois as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. I am building my lab (interested potential PhD students are welcome to reach out). Until July 2021, I was a postdoctoral researcher working with Lujo Bauer in the CyLab at Carnegie Mellon University. I earned my Phd in June 2019 from the University of Washington in Computer Science & Engineering. During my PhD, I was advised by Tadayoshi Kohno in the Security & Privacy Research Lab and Alexis Hiniker from the UW Information School.
Chris Fletcher
Hi there! My name is Chris Fletcher (a.k.a. 'Fletch', 'C Fletch', 'C F'). I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois--Urbana Champaign (CS Department). I grew up in Southern California and moved to Berkeley in 2006 to pursue a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I graduated with a Ph.D. (also in EECS) at MIT in 2016, and spent a year (Fall 2016-17) as a Research Post-doc at Nvidia.
Ranjitha Kumar
I'm an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and (by courtesy) the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I run the Data Driven Design Group, where we research machine learning for effective user experiences and effective user experiences for machine learning. I also serve as the Chief Research Scientist at UserTesting, where my team and I are building solutions for bridging quantitative and qualitative experience testing. I received my BS and PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University. Based on my dissertation work, I co-founded Apropose, Inc., a data-driven design startup backed by Andreessen Horowitz and New Enterprise Associates.
