Open-source interactive tools for quantum computing education: an introduction to PennyLane and the Quantum Codebook

Abstract: PennyLane is an open-source software framework for quantum machine learning, quantum chemistry, and quantum computing built around the concept of quantum differentiable programming. It gives users the power to train quantum computers the same way as neural networks. The Xanadu Quantum Codebook is an exercise-based online platform for learning quantum computing with PennyLane. It covers both introductory and advanced topics. Rather than just reading a textbook or tutorial, the Codebook is an active learning resource in which you will learn by doing. In this talk we will present an introduction to PennyLane and the engaging, time-saving, and powerful tools we have for education and cutting-edge research on quantum computing.

Bio: Catalina holds a MSc. in Electronics from Los Andes University and Engineering Diploma from IMT Atlantique in France, with a research focus on autonomous systems. She’s currently Quantum Community Manager at Xanadu, where she helps build the community around PennyLane. In the past Catalina has worked at IBM, where she was an IBM Quantum Ambassador, and at GreenYellow Colombia, where she was Project Manager for energy efficiency projects.
