"Trapped Ion Quantum Computing at Quantinuum

Speaker: Dr. Grahame Vittorini, Quantinuum

About the presenter

Dr. Grahame Vittorini is the Senior Manager for Quantinuum’s technical efforts in Golden Valley, MN. He received his doctorate from the Georgia Institute of Technology for his work on cryogenic ion trapping and molecular spectroscopy under Prof. Kenneth Brown’s tutelage. His postdoctoral research in Prof. Chris Monroe’s group at the University of Maryland demonstrated local (Mølmer-Sørensen) and remote (photonic) entanglement of 2 + 1 trapped ion qubits. He has been a part of Honeywell, and now Quantinuum, for 7 years and has had the privilege to lead the team that built and launched the commercial quantum computer H1-2.

About Quantinuum

Quantinuum is the world’s largest integrated quantum computing company, formed by the combination of Honeywell Quantum Solutions’ world leading hardware and Cambridge Quantum’s class leading middleware and applications. The combined company employs over 400 people including 300 scientists, at seven sites in the US, Europe, and Japan. Science led and enterprise driven, Quantinuum accelerates quantum computing and the development of applications across chemistry, cybersecurity, finance, and optimization. Their premier hardware offering, the H1 generation quantum computer, Powered by Honeywell, is one of the most advanced in the world and was the first to pass the industry standard quantum volume 4096 benchmark.
