The NSF Graduate Research Fellowships Program (GRFP) is a prestigious fellowship program for which eligibility is restricted to domestic (U.S. citizen and permanent resident) students who wish to pursue graduate studies. You are receiving this email because we believe that you meet the basic citizenship criteria listed. If you intend to pursue a PhD program starting next academic year (2022-2023) and meet the additional eligibility criteria (listed below), we hope you will consider applying.
To help eligible students understand the application process and requirements, the department is organizing a panel of faculty experts who have either received an NSF GRFP award themselves or have served as reviewers and current NSF GRFP recipients. These experts will be able to share their experiences and provide advice about applying for this prestigious fellowship.

NSF GRFP Application deadline: October 21, 2021
If you are planning to apply for a PhD program to start in the next academic year (2022-2023), please review the additional eligibility criteria below and plan to attend the information session. Although the deadline is coming up shortly (October 21), there is still time to put your application materials together and apply.
Additional eligibility criteria:
1) Must not have previously applied for an NSF GRFP fellowship as a graduate student. (Graduate students may have applied while in their undergraduate program.)
2) Must be first-year graduate students in your first graduate degree program OR second-year graduate students (no more than one academic year in first graduate degree program).
Faculty advisors will also be informed of their eligible students so that students can seek support from their advisors.
