Save Illinois Nuclear
Last year, Exelon announced that they were planning to shut down the Dresden and Byron nuclear plants in fall 2021. If this is allowed to happen, then in addition to the immediate loss of jobs and clean energy that those plants provide the other plants in the state will be put on the chopping block. This can be reversed, but we only have until mid-April to get legislation introduced before the decision becomes final.
On Wednesday, February 3rd at 7:00 PM, ANS is hosting a letter-writing event targeted at reaching out to local state representatives and senators. Our goal is to get as many unique and individually written letters out as possible in order to show them that this is something their constituents care about.
Regardless of where you are registered to vote, or how much you know about nuclear energy, your voice can still be heard. At the beginning of the event, we will take a few minutes to go over some of the details of the plant shutdown, as well as some talking points that you may want to include in your letter. We can even mail it out for you!
