Join Women@NCSA on Wednesday, April 3 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in NCSA room 1030 for a talk entitled "How We Can Help Close the STEM Gender Gap with Video Games" by Pamela Iluore. Pamela is a UC Berkeley Alumni and Silicon Valley veteran working at companies such as Apple, PlayStation, GoldieBlox, and Electronic Arts (also known as EA Sports). She has worked in video games and tech for almost 10 years. Pamela is also a producer on hardware, toys, and video games.

Abstract: We are going to take an in depth look at video games as a medium to help encourage females to pursue STEM. We will examine how combining problem solving with storytelling motivates young girls to participate in activities that help improve their spatial reasoning skills. This is important because high proficiency in spatial reasoning skills strongly predicts who will go into STEM fields.

Refreshments will be served. RSVP and invite others via our Facebook event!
