The Pre-Law 101 workshop series is the introductory program for students at UIUC. Pre-Law 101 sessions provide a comprehensive overview of the law as a career, legal education, and the process for preparing and applying to law school. The series includes two sessions:
IN PERSON: Session 1: Discovering Law: In this session, we will look at the legal profession, including what lawyers really do and where they work, and look at the law school experience. We will also look at legal education and what it means to earn a law degree. Participants should get a clearer idea of whether law school and practicing law, is something they are interested in and guidance on the next steps in their journey to law school.
IN PERSON: Session 2: Preparing for Law School: In this session, we will look at strategies for preparing for law school. First, we will examine the academic and personal qualities that law schools are looking for in their applicants. Then we will look at suggested timelines, recommended activities, and priorities as you prepare for applying to law school. Finally, we will briefly look at the application process itself, including a discussion of the Law Schools Admission Test (LSAT).
Workshops will be held at Lincoln Hall in Room 1027
Register for Session Two, online by March 27, 11:59 pm CST to attend.
