Join us for a conversation with photographer Jess T. Dugan and social worker Vanessa Fabbre on the making of To Survive on This Shore: Photographs and Interviews with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Older Adults. Seeking subjects whose lived experiences exist within the complex intersections of gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, sexuality, socioeconomic class, and geographic location, they traveled from coast to coast, to big cities and small towns, documenting the life stories of this important but largely underrepresented group of older adults. They will be joined by participant Gloria Allen, who will speak about her identity and share her experience being part of To Survive on This Shore.

This conversation will be moderated by Mary Statzer, Curator of Prints and Photographs at the University of New Mexico Art Museum.

A reception will follow the talk.

PLEASE REGISTER HERE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE EVENT VIA ZOOM.
