This presentation offers strategies for including lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and other sexual or gender diverse people (LGBTQ+) and their perspectives in online pedagogies. Drawing on recent research and experiences as an online instructor, participants will learn how to create space for respectful discussions, amplify LGBTQ+ voices, and engage social media that support sexual and gender diversity.
Dr. Robert Mizzi is the Canada Research Chair in Queer, Community and Diversity Education and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba, Canada. He is also UIS alumnus from the Higher Education Online Pedagogy program.
