Join the WRC and WGGP as we host UIUC Professor, Dr. Kate Clancy for a discussion of her new book, "Period: The Real Story of Menstruation." Explore issues surrounding menstruation, from bodily autonomy, menstrual hygiene, and the COVID-19 vaccine to the ways racism, sexism, and medical betrayal warp public perceptions of menstruation and erase it from public life.

Prior to the lecture, the WRC/WGGP will be hosting a book club and discussion on Monday, October 2 and Monday, October 9 at 4 pm at the WRC. Limited copies of the book are available on a first come, first serve basis by request. Additional copies will be made available for purchase at a discount. Request yours here: https://forms.illinois.edu/sec/2094831638

This event is being held in recognition of Period Action Day on October 14.

This event is co-sponsored by Women and Gender in Global Perspectives at Illinois and the Women's Resources Center.
