Join us for the opening of the Urbana Champaign Satellite Reef!

Margaret Wertheim, creator of the internationally exhibited Crochet Coral Reef Project, will be on campus September 23rdthrough 24thfor the opening of the Urbana Champaign Satellite Reef at the Siebel Center for Design. Margaret will give a CAS MillerComm lecture about the intersection between art, science, and mathematics at the Spurlock Museum at 4 pm on Thursday, September 23rd. Please join us afterwards for the opening of our very own community-sourced Satellite Reef.We will celebrate this year-long crochet collaboration with a public reception that evening, from 6 – 7:30 pm, at the Seibel Center for Design.

The Urbana Satellite Reef will be on display during the fall semester at the SCD.
